Sorting

We did an interesting sorting activity for math. We looked at the objects in our classroom and sorted them by the country where they were made. The results were interesting. We found objects made in Italy, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal and the USA, although most of the objects were manufactured in China.

Olin and Ben check a game box for the country of origin.

This was China's table, about midway through our activity. Yes, the American flag was made in China!

The activity led to some interesting discussions about the world and manufacturing and international relations. One child was a tad disturbed that none of our toys were manufactured at the North Pole.
