Kindergarten Quotes

The other day two girls were reading a book about Martin Luther King. They came upon a picture of him at his wedding to Coretta Scott. "Ooh!" one of the girls exclaimed. "Look at that pretty lady in the wedding dress!" The

other girl nodded and said, authoritatively, "That's Martin Luther Queen."

I was a little disappointed to find I had lost a glove. "Cheer up!" said a student. "It could have been worse. You could have lost a library book, or a gold medal, or a magic wand."

Me: "Wow, I like your little purple guitar! Do you play Hannah Montana songs on it?"

Madison: (making a face) "No. I play Metallica."

Upon hearing that Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" was 121 years old, Marlie exclaimed, "Whoa! Were there even people back then?"

"Mr. Leal, if you were planning on getting me a birthday present remember that I love unicorns. Okay?"

The other day we read a legend about the origin of the Chinese zodiac. Buddha makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the story. "Oh, I've heard about Buddha!" exclaimed one child. "I think he used to be our president or something."
